Hi! I am a South Asian woman (living in Houston, TX) in her late 20’s suffering from dispersed hair loss over the frontal & crown area. Over the years, it has become more- well, let’s just say I can see my scalp. I have a widow’s peak & I used to love to part my hair down the middle or side, now I can’t do either. It has to be puffed up & clipped back to hide the- sniff, balding. Anyways, I have so many weddings & events coming up in December & I will be flying back to Pakistan to attend them. I don’t want to be bald. I don’t want to worry about how I will hide it or style my hair. So, I am considering medium extensions on just the top area- have plenty of hair in the back & sides of my head. But what sort should I get? Is this a good idea? I have thin hair & the falling has slowed down quite a bit. I leave in the 2nd week of Dec, so when should I get it done- right before or a week earlier (I’ll be gone f 2-3 wks)? Other ideas/options/advice? Anything more permanent? Thank you.
The hair loss is mainly on top… so will clip on extensions work (anod not fall out- gulp)? Will people be able to tell?
Are the “non” clip on ones that bad? I only want them in for 2 months or so…
Thank you for all your suggestions so far… so many ideas to sort thru and ponder upon… thanks again

I have heard for many people that if a young, 18-year-old woman who is not suffering hair loss (like myself) uses Men’s Rogaine or Women’s Rogaine, that it would cause hair loss.

My friend’s mother is suffering from alopecia and is really struggling to treat it. Her mother wheres hats, wigs to cover it. Her mothers confidence has gone down dramatically. She is now becoming more and more depressed. Her mother is old school like mine so as far as researching books, internet thats out of the question. Is there anything that can be done meds, over the counter, hair supplies that could get it growing again.

I am 26 years old and have dyed my hair since I was 16. I recently was diagnosed with alopecia. Can i still dye my hair or will that make more hair fall out? I currently have roots that i wanted to touch up but am afraid I’ll lose more/all of my hair!
