If someone loses hair because of low thyroid would she get it back if she uses medication and bring her thyroid secretion to a normal level?

I’ve heard that one of the side effects is ovarian cancer, as well as breast cancer and on the minor scale, hair loss. Is this true?
I have had thyroid problems for a long time I take medicine for it..I have the kind that makes you gain weight…I take synthroid for it or levothroid…well anyways, I have never lost hair while I had thyroid in the past or that I noticed..but a few months ago I was loosing hair like crazy it was all over my pillow on my clothes the floor everywhere…it has calmed down a bit now but it’s still falling…I can see places were this is no hair not like bald patches but if I put my hair back I can see my head skin ha ha…I tried to not think about it much so I don’t get depressed but I am depressed, worried, sad. I survived cancer, grew beautiful hair only to have it taken by thyroid. My doctor said it would grow back once we get my thyroid back in order but I don’t know if he was just trying to calm me down or if he was serious. I went in crying one day cause I was feeling really bad crying, hair loss, headaches, dizzyness, weight loss. Is it possible for this thyroid nightmare to end?
I have had progressively worse hair loss for quite a while now (>6 mos.). My head is really starting to look like it is actually balding. Being a female, this doesn’t run in my family. I am 35 years old. I have sporadic burning scalp pain, too….if that description makes any sense!
A doctor of mine asked about my thyroid levels. I told him they didn’t seem suspicious, evidently, from previous general blood tests run by other doctors. He says blood thyroid levels can change within that period of time and also that blood tests aren’t always accurate. He has told me to take my basal temperature each day for two weeks. I will then go back. Does anyone know the oral basal temperature level at which hypothyroid is typically diagnosed?
My biggest concern at this moment is the extreme hair loss. If the doctor prescribes me medicine to increase my thyroid levels, will my hair grow back??? Please, anyone with experience or knowledge of this, share. Thanks.
And is there anyway to check it without going to the doctor. I imagine there isn’t, but I figure it doesn’t hurt to ask.
I am trying to find a way to regrow my hair and was wondering if thyroid medication would help. I don’t want to take the shots in the scalp anymore or take steroids because they stop working as soon as the treatment is done.
I guess a bit in the middle of this Fall semester, I’ve been feeling sluggish, tired, and have had several problems with constipation. In the last few months, my hair has been thinning and I’m loosing lots of hair. Before I noticed it, my scalp was itchy at times and now the hair is extremely thin and at times it just breaks off; I can see my scalp from some angles; the thinning is working itself from top of the head to the bottom. Now, my scalp itches or mildly stings at times.
I just started taking vitamins, changed my diet (more tuna, greens, chicken, soy protein), and am about to get an appointment at the doctor. I’m not seeking a diagnosing from you, just your ideas on the possibility of thyroid problems, male hair loss, or malnutrition.
P.S. I started noticing the hair thinning and fall after using a shampoo with gelatin and Vitamin B12 if that means anything.
My lab has hypothyroidism. She is currently taking medication for it. However I noticed the loss of hair on both sides of her body has yet to fill in.
Is this normal?
So for the past few months or so I have been having a lot of changes. At first I just thought that it had to do with my body readjusting itself since I recently had a baby (5 months ago). So little things I have been noticing is anxiety (nervousness), mild depression (my hubby goes away 4 days a week and we live in a basement apartment with one window. I thought these were little things that were contributing to the depression feeling), recently started feeling insomniac. I haven’t been able to get to bed until anywhere between 12am and 2am for the past few months (my son sleeps anywhere from 8pm-10pm until around 7am to 9am), lots of hair loss in the shower and throughout the day (not bald spots or anything but definitely losing a lot more hair than EVER before), tiredness, and constipation (although lately I have been having terrible knotting in my stomach and having what seems to be like diarrhea sorry TMI). The past 2 weeks I have noticed this lump underneath my chin. When I put my head down it aggravates it…I can actually push my finger up under my chin and feel it, it is sore. I know that my thyroid is like the “adams apple” (although I am a woman lol) but the other day I decided to look up thyroid problems and I found that the symptoms of that are all of the ones that I am experiencing (except for the lump feeling…almost like a swollen gland that is very uncomfortable). Does this sound like a thyroid problem? Another thing I should add is that I am having the toughest time losing the baby weight. Although I do not eat well ALL the time, I have been exercising a lot and eating much healthier than usual. STILL no weight loss. This morning I started having this feeling of “growing pains” in my calves. I went to bed around 1am and woke up at 5:45am and haven’t been able to go back to sleep since…because of the feeling in my legs. It is like I cannot stretch them enough. WHAT IS GOING ON WITH MY BODY? I AM going to make an appointment with the doctor but I just wanted to hear of some personal experiences. I feel like I have no control of what is going on!

I have a cute little Peekapoo, who has lost a lot of her hair and has already had skin scraps, fungal lab screening and bacteria blood work… Thyroid is looking like a possible cause, but since I have hit the max on my credit card with Vet Bills, I was hoping there was something economical/over the counter to avoid the VET. First off I am a 17 year old female, I’m not sure if that helps the answer or not. Anyways a while back I had to go get numerous blood tests for hypothyroidism, all those tests later turned out I did not have it. Now I’m just fed up with my freaking hair. I know it is normal to shed but I am going to go crazy. I cannot take a shower without strands of hair coming out and then when I go to brush, more comes out. Even if I just group my hair and run my fingers through it more hair comes out. My towel needs to be washed all the time because hair is all over it and I just want to stop having people tell me “you have hair on your shirt”.
Ok enough with the fluff. Someone told me that if my hair is falling out a lot over a period of time I should get my thyroid checked out. Why? What does hair have to do with the thyroid? Does my concern with thyroid in the past increase something now? Should I get it checked out?
