I know that you sometimes lose hair with hormonal changes after a baby is born, but I am losing hair even now. My daughter just turned 1. I take a shower or just brush my hair or even run my hands through it and I have several strands on my hand brush or whatever. My sink is covered with it and I constantly removing it from my clothing.
I am starting to think maybe its a vitamin deficiency or something like that. Anyone have any suggestions or have you ever dealt with this? Am I going bald slowly? Maybe someone can reccomend a vitamin, shampoo or food that I should be getting more of to curb this hair loss. Thank you.

I’m only 16!
I’m Black and Filipino, so my hair a little straight and curly at the same time.
I went to the Barber to get my haircut, a couple of weeks ago.
This Barber was so rough on my head! All he did was scrape my
scalp by brushing excessively and then push the clippers across
my head painfully hard! Now, my hair has grown back to a longer length, but
now it’s thinner at the sides and at the front. I want my full, thick hair back!
It could be a mixture of stress too, with school and grades to worry about.
What the hell can I do to get my hair back without using any medication or Rogaine?

I am 22 female, and imy hair is thinning to the point where you can see right through the roots, right to the scalp.
I have noticed it when i was 17, but it was nothing really that noticable. I thought it was because i dyed my hair alot and i’ve always had fine hair to begin with.
When i was 19 I got pregnant, and within 6-8 months after my child was born, It got out of control. I had to change my hair color of bright red and go to a salon to have it professionally done blonde, wich the color looks awful on my skin tone..But it’s the only color that will hide the thinning hair. My hair dresser said that my actual hair is very healthy and my scalp shows no signs of damage (But he isn’t a doctor )…But it’s starting to show even with the blonde hair.
The thinning is in my crown area, and it’s spreading to the back of my head slowly. My hairline is fully in tact,
My hair isn’t falling out at all, it’s just slowly thinning. I dont have any kinda excesive shedding at all. It’s just slowly thinning out, and I dont know why?
Sometimes i’ve noticed a horrible itching sensation where the thinning is.
I’m terrified, i’m only 22 years old, and having to wear a wig. I dont have money to see a doctor, or i would.
I know it could be Female Pattern baldness (It does run in my family) But the itchyness plus i’m so young! Also It all happend after I had my child, Makes me think it’s something more then that. And can this be cured? Can I get my hair back?
I’m desperate!!!! D:
I am scared to try Womans Rogain becasue i’ve heard horror stories that it can make your hair loss worse.
My mom is waiting on settlement money for something and when she gets it she said she would take me to a doctor or help me get a hair transplant. Would that really work?
Thank you for your opinions and help. It’s really devestating.
Im just so miserably depressed over this. I used to love to color and style my hair, it was my pride and joy. It was the only thing i really liked about myspace. I’m so sad, All i can do is where it back in a headband and keep it such a light shade of blonde so it’s not as noticable, but slowly…That wont even work. I dont know what to do, or where to turn. It makes me sick to my stomach. Going out with friends or doing anything like going out to dinner feels more like a burden then anything, because I dont want anybody to see me. I know i sound vain and selfish…but It just sickens me to my core. I just have to hope and pray that I can eventually get the money together to see a doctor and this can be fixed somehow. Loosing your hair is honestly one of the most emotionally devestating thing, one can experience.
Thank you for letting me rant, I just need to get it out of my system.
*My self* (sorry typo)
Thank you all so much for your help. I was reading up on PCOS (Polycistic Ovarian Syndrom)
I have every single symptom, and if i do have this, I can get on meds and it will correct my hairloss and many other problems along with it.
I appreciate each and every one of your answers and opinions. Thank you

I am a 17 year old teen having hair loss problems. I have thin hair. The first time i saw myself having hair loss problems was in Jan. 2006. The part of my head that i lose hair on is my eyebrows. The doctor told me it could be stress problems, so i just let it go and try to control my stress. My eyebrows sometimes grow back and sometimes go. Now my right eyebrows are losing hair bad and i need a answer quick how to grow this hair back. I went to a few doctors with my mom but they never have the best way to treat it, all they told me is to buy some treatment and stuff. My next hair loss problem is my hair line. My hairline is receding. I can tell you 2 ways how, it could of run in the family or it’s because my braids back in the day. My father’s hairline is sort of receding and my braids could of pull the thin hair off. Those are two ways. I just need to know how to get my hair line back.

I’m very scared and nervous to what it could be, anyone have any ideas?

So lately I have been noticing a lot of hair coming out when washing my hair and brushing. I rarely straighten it, and leave it alone for the most part. But today when brushing I noticed after lifting the top section of hair a rather large bare spot of scalp. At twenty and being a female it is rather upsetting, what on earth could cause me to just up and lose a section of hair completely. I think I would have noticed a spot that bigger sooner, so it leads me to believe this was a rapid transition. What should I do?

I am a 21 year old woman and I am just recently started having a lot of hair loss. I don’t know what is causing it and it’s stressing me out! Does being late for my period have anything to do with it? Hormones? not eating right? what’s going on?

Ok I was using selsun blue cuz I had dandruff, for about a year and couple months. Now forgive me for my lack of knowledge, I don’t know much about hair or never went to a doctor before about my hair. I’m 22 year old male.
I’ve been starting to notice some slight hair loss in the front of my scalp. It doesn’t look like anything major, I mean I can still cover what’s missing with the hair that’s already there, but if you look carefully you can tell the back of my scalp looks a bit thicker than the front. I use to think I was seeing things and you know how sometimes people’s hair can get messed up and you might see a bit of their scalp every now and then? That’s what I thought it was.
I feel like a complete idiot, i was using selsun for a year, I didn’t know what I was doing and nobody knew that I was doing this. I didn’t even know you’re not supposed to wash your hair EVERYDAY. So is this hair loss permanent or will grow back? I’m really worried now.
Forgot to mention:
Nobody in my family has gone bald, so I think this being hereditary can be ruled out.
So, my hair won’t grow back even if I stop using selsun, switch to regular shampoo and wash every 2 days instead?

I know everyone sheds hair, but i lose a lot. My clothes have at least 25 strands if not more every time i wake up and i am constantly lossing it during the day. It is especially bad when i take a bath or shower. Is this normal or should i call a doctor?

I know we are suppose to shed 50 strains a day, so its obvious I am experiencing lossing a bit more. I am almost sure its not a vitamin E or A defiency because I’ve been taking those and it still shedding really bad. I have made an appt. w/my dermatologist for next week, but has anyone else had this problem and gotten a diagnosis?

After washing my hair about an hour ago, I noticed clumps of hair were falling out. I have a lot of hair so it is normal for my hair to fall out, I have always “shed” a lot, however tonight it was coming out in scary large clumps. I was recently diagnosed with Celiac (gluten allergy) and have been under stress from other events occurring in my life. Does anyone else have Celiac and sudden hair loss? Any doctors out there with any insight? (You don’t have to be a doctor to answer of course, I am just seeing if anyone has an explanation, this is making me very nervous)
Will try to get in touch with a doctor ASAP but it is Friday night and no one I know of is in over the weekend.
Thanks!

My little sister is having some trouble with hair loss and my mom and I are starting to get worried. She’s been losing hair where her bangs are and it seems like it thinning. She has dandruff but she uses shampoo for it, and from what I hear she says it helps the itch and it’s not noticeable that she has dandruff. She used a full set of healthy hair and now it seems as if all that is thinning. Does anyone know of any vitamins for hair loss that would be appropriate for her age and he scalp condition.
